September 11, 2000 - just under 6 months after Johnny’s death, a tribute concert was held in his memory, organised by his wife Chris. Musicians piled into Vicar Street, in Dublin, both on stage and in the audience, to join in the celebration of Johnny’s life. The quality of talent was second to none…it was a fitting tribute to Johnny and the impact he had on everyone he touched. Following are some photos from that concert...

In Memory Of Johnny Keenan
(a poem written by Claudette Audette, © 2000)
Our lives were changed that saddened day,
When the angels came and took you away.
You’d made us laugh, you’d made us cry,
But then we had to say goodbye.
Our lives were shattered in so many ways,
But in our hearts your memory will stay.
A wife and child you left behind,
But through their eyes your’s shall shine.
Your spirit will live on in this world,
You’ve given us a gift, your precious little girl.
Your child will grow and go out into this world,
But all will remember, she’s John’s little girl.
Though life may go on, or so they say,
The memory of you will never fade.
The Lord seemed to have other ideas for you,
Like all of us, He loves you too.
John, though for now we are apart,
Our love for you lies within our hearts!
Always Rembered, Never Forgotten! |
